Ranuzio is Bianca Stampa di Soncino’s husband, and presents here his son as heir to his name and lineage. The clothes and the chair are more elegant and important here than in the previous painting. Ranuzio had important assignments with Napoleon’s arrival in the dukedoms, becoming first senator of the Empire and then advisor for Mary Louise of Austria.
