Pietro da Cortona (1596 - 1669)

Pietro Berrettini, known as Pietro da Cortona, was a defining figure of the Italian Baroque. Born in Cortona, he mastered illusionistic painting & architecture in Rome, rivaling Bernini and Borromini.
