Painter and graphic artist. Pupil of Henrick Mommers (1619/20–1693) and Adriaen van Ostade (1610–1685). Influenced by Jan Steen (1625/1626–1679). Active in Haarlem (1669–1670), Leeuwarden (1670–1687), Haarlem (1687–1702). Multi-figure compositions – mostly chivalrous scenes with banquet views, the peasant genre, as well as history painting, portraits and Italianate.
