Sandals
9.0 x 23.0 cm
Kunstgewerbemuseum
The sole and heel of these ladies’ sandals are hewn from one single continuous metal sheet. A broad, white leather strap forms the instep and is fixed at the side with decorative rivets and metal strips. The outer sole and heel sole are of black, synthetic material. The sandal embodies an attempt to express the factual tendencies of the 1960s through making visible both the material and process of construction.
