Cornelis Engelsz (1575-1650) was a Dutch Golden Age painter known for detailed realism, genre scenes & portraiture. Influenced by Rembrandt, his work reflects everyday life and the emerging middle class.

The son of Frans van Schoterbosch, Willem Fransz van Schoterbosch was married to Maria Salina, a daughter of Pieter Salina.
