Yip likes to explore the potential and possibility of Chinese calligraphy by making reference to different styles, as seen in this work. Written in running and cursive script, it attempts to explore distortion, contrast and pictorial elements in calligraphic art. The rhythmic flow of the script comes from the varied ink tones and brushwork. While each character is an independent unit, a sense of continuity is achieved through the dynamic relationship between characters and space.
