Anna Pauwlona, the Princess of Orange, received Alexander II, Grand Prince and heir of Russia, at the Czaar Peterhuisje in Zaandam, April 17, 1839. The princess presents the grand frost a leaf on which bread (in turban form) and salt in a salt vessel, a well-known Russian welcome ritual.
