Explore the captivating work of damián linossi, an Argentine visual artist known for installations, photography & video exploring simulation, technology, science, and health. Award-winning artist gaining international recognition.
This painting tells the story of a group that, while an encirclement ritual takes place, gets excited by the moon light, sets the sexual energy of people on fire and burns the animals. Meanwhile, the animal is very hungry and begs for food. Then, a girl cuts her head off with a knife to feed him. Afterwards, perhaps she goes back home and her head sticks to her body again. Here I try to condense visually the first signs of violence of an imminent crisis of a phase prior to capitalism. The paintings are gestural, with many characters and themes that relate to violence of men with women, the cryptozoology and natural forces. It is my way of declaring the capacity to quit to one’s own point of view. I want to create a monument to the failure of the individual point of view. My goal is to escape the center of the complicity network that I believe is naturalized among us.
