      A lead sculpture of a young man representing Apollo, whose hair falls over the nape of his neck in bunches, and who is wearing only the cloth that rings and covers his waist.The son of Zeus and Leto, and the twin brother of Artemis (Diana), the most beautiful of all the gods, his standing gradually rose amongst the other deities and he moved from being a herdsman to a god who reigned over men because of his eloquence and wisdom. In Rome, he was not assimilated to any other god, also being known as Apollo Phoebus or simply Phoebus. A solar deity, he was linked to nature and the cycle of the year’s seasons, as well as to music, poetry and artistic inspiration.
