      On 6 June 1924, the premiere of Arnold Schönberg’s monodrama Erwartung, op. 17 (Expectation) took place at the Deutsches Landestheater in Prague under the direction of Alexander Zemlinsky. On this occasion Schönberg had himself photographed in the Schlosser & Wenisch studio. The composer celebrated his 50th birthday in September of this year and needed a number of recent portrait photographs for press purposes.
