Armenian Wedding, Jean Baptiste Vanmour, 1720 - 1737
An Armenian wedding parade is on its way to church for the wedding ceremony. The musicians run first followed by the groom. He is accompanied by a young man with a saber. Then follow his parents, the priest and the female part of the company with the bride dressed in red. Bride and groom are preceded by candle carriers. The long candles will keep the couple after the wedding.
