On 28 September 1730 a rebellion broke out led by Patrona Halil, an Albanian sailor. The rebels succeeded in deporting the sultan and installed his cousin Mahmud I.After Mahmud I had taken the throne, the rebels continued to cause unrest. They tried to gain positions in government and demanded more and more influence. Mahmud invited them with an excuse to the palace, where they were killed one by one. On the right, Patrona Halil is overwhelmed, while on the left, the servant who looked after his horse has already been murdered. In the middle one sees the grand visor Damad Ibrahim Pasha coming out of his palace, accompanied by one of the chief judges and one of the thesauriers. From the other door the admiral and the other chief judge come out, while on the left an officer of the guard gives orders to a group of warriors. In the background one can still see how the servants of the great visor are slaughtered. This brought the rebellion to an end.
