The corbeille de mariage consists of an elegant ovoid basket with a cusp-shaped lid and supported by two allegorical figures resting on an oval base. The lid, upholstered in silk velvet, holds the symbols of Love in gilded bronze (bow and arrow) and a globe, also in bronze, with mother-of-pearl stars applied on it. The wooden basket is covered in ivory-coloured velvet adorned with metallic yarn embroidery and gilded bronze decorations: two eagle heads (surrounded by olive branches in metallic yarn) hold roses garlands and two myrtle crowns enclose the monograms of the imperial couple (MN and LM).
