Early Life and Education
Born on March 31, 1979, in Singapore, Prabal Gurung spent his formative years in Kathmandu, Nepal. He began his design journey in New Delhi before relocating to New York City to pursue formal education at Parsons The New School for Design.

After graduating from Parsons, Gurung honed his skills with experience at Cynthia Rowley’s design and production teams. A pivotal moment came when he was appointed Director of Design at the iconic Bill Blass, a position he held for five years. This role provided invaluable experience in luxury fashion and laid the groundwork for launching his own eponymous label.
