Wong Wo-bik received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the Columbus College of Art and Design in 1977 and a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Photography from the Tyler School of Art of Temple University in 1979. Wong was a lecturer in the Communication Department of Hong Kong Baptist College, and Department of Journalism and Communication of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She later worked as education programme director in the Hong Kong Arts Centre and course advisor to the School of Design of Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Wong is currently the museum expert advisor (Hong Kong photography) of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. This photo series by Wong Wo-bik in 1997 captures the Lai Yuen Amusement Park in the last days before its demolition. While she uses idiosyncratic compositions and an illusory palette to create dreamlike images, she has also captured the desolation and demise of the amusement park.
