She pursued higher education at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Coimbra, earning an undergraduate degree in Biology. Later, she expanded her academic pursuits with a Master's degree in Science Communication from the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of Nova University Lisbon.

Following her studies, Beatriz Gomes Dias embarked on a career as a secondary school biology teacher. However, her commitment extended beyond the classroom. She became actively involved in social justice issues early in her university years, joining SOS Racismo in Portugal.
