This is the official hospital portrait of Carolina Barbara Invernizzi, a classical dancer who died in 1937, for whom, with regard to the bequest of 50,000 liras in favor of the Ospedale Maggiore, a first commemorative portrait had been commissioned to Spartaco Greggio. The Artistic Commission, however, is not satisfied with it and, while retaining it in the Collections, entrusts this second assignment to Giuseppe Didone, who takes up the same frontal and simplified iconography of the rejected painting and performs a work of manner, so meticulous and descriptive to give his executor the definition of
