      Trukanini (c. 1812-1876) was a Nuennone woman from Bruny Island. After several members of her family had been abducted or killed by settlers, including her prospective husband Paraweena, Woorrady became her partner in 1829. Trukanini and Woorrady travelled with G A Robinson, official Protector of Aborigines, whose goal was to remove Indigenous people from Tasmania to his mission on Flinders Island, for the supposed benefit of both native and settler populations.
