Hamamatsu City Fuku Akino Art Museum
In Odisha, one can find the Konark Sun Temple. Akino was staying in a hotel near that temple when rain began to fall, and the torrent of water was enough to flood the roads and fields. That evening, a herd of water buffaloes crossed the water next to the hotel with their horns lined up and left a strong impression on Akino. The herd formed a single line with their heads of sharp, black horns, and pressed forward intently. The black masses of their bodies and their heavy footsteps conjure the feeling of daily life in India where everything is as one: nature, animals, and humans.
