      The Princess of Orange Receiving Alexander II (1818-1881), Grand Duke and Heir to the Throne of Russia, in the Czar Peter"s House in Zaandam, 17 April 1839, Christiaan Julius Lodewijk Portman, 1839 - 1840

      Anna Pauwlona, the Princess of Orange, received Alexander II, Grand Prince and heir of Russia, at the Czaar Peterhuisje in Zaandam, April 17, 1839. The princess presents the grand frost a leaf on which bread (in turban form) and salt in a salt vessel, a well-known Russian welcome ritual.
