He illustrated numerous children's books for Harper & Brothers, including classics like *Robin Hood*, *The Swiss Family Robinson*, *Robinson Crusoe*, and *Treasure Island*.
- Collaborations: Rhead frequently collaborated with his brother, George Woolliscroft Rhead Jr., on various projects, particularly in book illustration.
