In 1904 the Department published plans for three sizes of screen wagons. Model No. 1 carried 5,000 pounds and required two horses. Model No. 2 carried 2,500 pounds and also required two horses. Finally, model No. 3 had a 1,200-pound capacity and could be used with either one or two horses.This fully restored screen wagon is Model No. 2. As outlined by postal directives, the wagon follows a specific color scheme. The screen frames are painted red, as are the running gear and wheels.
