Adriaen van der Werff (1659-1722) was a Dutch Baroque painter renowned for his detailed portraits, mythological & erotic scenes. A highly lauded artist of his time, he served as court painter and influenced 18th-century art.
Portrait of Godard van Reede (1644-1703), Lord van Amerongen, Lieutenant General. Headpiece, standing in armor, Commodo Staff in the right hand, left hand on the fortress of his saber. On the right in the background, work on the Boyne (1690).
