      Este grabado representa la estación 53, Otsu, del Tōkaidō gojūsan eki (Cincuenta y tres estaciones del camino del Tōkaidō) que es la tercera serie sobre el Tōkaidō realizada por Hiroshige II, en 1865 cuatro años antes de su muerte. El primer grabado de la serie se sitúa en Nihonbashi y el último representa el Palacio Imperial de Kioto, como final del recorrido. La serie contiene las 53 estaciones de la Tōkaidō y consta de un total de 58 grabados. Cada grabado lleva un cartucho horizontal, en la parte superior de la imagen, en el que va escrito el título de la serie junto al título del grabado.
