Portrait of Gerrit van der Pot (1732-1807), Mr van Groeneveld, art collector in Rotterdam. Halfway there, sitting at a table holding the journal in which he recorded his acquisitions. On the table is a posthuum miniature portrait (1800) of his third wife Maria Catharina Pelerin (gest. 1799) by Gijsbertus Johannes van den Berg. On the right in the background the painting De Avondschool by Gerrit Dou (SK-A-87).
