Portrait of Paulus Verschuur (1606-67), elected in 1651. Koopman and several times mayor of Rotterdam. Bust in oval to the right. Free copy to the portrait of Frans Hals from 1643 in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. Part of a series of portraits of the directors of the Rotterdam Chamber of the United East India Company, made for the New East India House from 1698 on the Boompjes in Rotterdam.
