Sir Anthony van Dyck (1599 – 1641)

Sir Anthony van Dyck (1599-1641): Master Flemish Baroque painter renowned for elegant portraits of European aristocracy & Charles I's court. Influential in English art, known for religious scenes & innovative style.

These small oil sketches by Van Dyck were probably painted around 1630. They derive from similar studies by Rubens, and would have been used in Van Dyck"s studio as models for equestrian portraits or historical and religious pictures.
