The traditional Kaszubian folk costume is one of the latest museum’s acquisitions. It is an example of a modern stage costume and significantly differs from the copy of a costume from the region, also owned by the museum. It is a reference to the so-called culture-centre costumes, which were made in the 1950s and 1960s for regional folk groups. Today, this costume by many Kaszubians and “Kaszuby lovers” is thought to be the “real” costume, representative of the region. The costume’s embroidery’s context is also very interesting.
