Gaze upon Giorgione's 'Young Woman (“Laura”)', a Venetian masterpiece brimming with mystery & beauty. Explore the enigmatic portrait’s symbolism and artistic legacy at the Kunsthistorisches Museum.
Giorgio Barbarelli da Castelfranco, known as Giorgione, remains one of the most elusive figures in Renaissance art. Born around 1477 or 1478 in Castelfranco Veneto near Venice, his life ended tragically young at approximately thirty-two or thirty-three.
This evocative Venetian portrait by Giorgione captures a moment of contemplative stillness amidst architectural grandeur—a man in red against a brick wall, accompanied by a loyal dog—reflecting the artist’s masterful Renaissance style and inviting you to experience timeless beauty.
