martín chambi 1931 In this image, Chambi captures the moment of rest and refreshment of a large group of campesinos (all in ponchos and chullos) on a slope in the Ocongate area, from which there is a splendid view of Ausangate, the highest mountain in southern Peru, at an impressive 6384 m above sea level. Not far from Cuzco, on its summit the climate is such that there is perennial snow (which
