yi eungro Lee Ungno (Yi Eungro), born in Seoul in 1904, was a Korean-born French painter and printmaker. His early life was marked by a brief stint at Hongseong Botong Hakyo followed by dedicated study under Yeomjae Song Tae-hoe from 1920. He pursued painting primarily in the ‘haegang style,’ earning recognition for his ink wash painting of a bamboo, mukjuk (묵죽), which won a prize in the 3rd annu
