The city garden and the coach house belonging to the plot Keizersgracht 524, Amsterdam, then inhabited by Nicolaas Doekscheer and Elisabeth Groen. The coach house is Kerkstraat 61. Garden house with a facade decorated with statues in niches representing Hercules and Ceres (?). In the ornamental garden with sundial are several persons, including the owners, their heirs Hendrik (in the foreground) and Reynier (who plays flute) Steenbergen, a gardener and a maid.

Hendrik Keun (1738-1787) was an 18th-century Dutch painter renowned for detailed cityscapes of Haarlem & Amsterdam. Inspired by Van der Heyden, his work captures the elegance and architectural beauty of the Dutch Golden Age.
