Mud House A

This piece diversely expresses the bright and pleasant atmosphere of the town of Madhubani in northern part of the state of Bihar. The rectangular outline of the entranceway beneath the eaves leaves an impression. The entranceway is framed by flower motifs and on the right wall, three village girls are intertwined with naga serpent gods. The long hair of the girls is tied in a way that suggests the likenesses of nagini godesses. Within the flirtation of the girls and nagas, one can feel the simple joy in breaking away from standard conventions and painting freely.
