charles rémond, a french painter, was born in paris in 1795 and passed away in 1875. his artistic journey began under the tutelage of jean victor bertin, a renowned neo-classical landscapist. this foundational training laid the groundwork for rémond's future success.artistic achievements and style
rémond's claim to fame came in 1821 when he won the second prix de rome for historical landscape painting. this accolade enabled him to study in italy for four years, where he developed a unique approach to painting. his works seamlessly blend sketching from nature with classical composition, as evident in view of the colosseum and the arch of constantine from the palatine, showcased at the metropolitan museum of art.notable works and exhibitions
