Dionys Van Nijmegen (? – ?)
Dionys van Nijmegen (1705-1798) was a Dutch painter known for portraits, ceiling & wall decorations in the 18th century. Son of Elias van Nijmegen, he continued the family tradition and taught his son Gerard. His works reflect the decorative style of the period.
Portrait of Frans de Haes (1708-61). Poet and language teacher in Rotterdam. Half in body, in oval. Under the right arm a winch, the right hand under the chin. Part of a collection of portraits of Dutch poets.
