Kumbakonam stone chariot
The stone chariot carved on the walls of the Airavatesvarar temple in Kumbakonam in Thanjavur district. This temple, built by Rajaraja Chola in the 12th century is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of three of Great Living Chola Temples. The Airavatesvarar temple is one among the 18 medieval era large temples in Kumbakonam and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This one of the temples which has a stone chariot structure.
