Still life with fruit and poultry. In the middle a cane basket with grapes, plums, peaches, a melon, pomegranates and a branch of rose. There are also several dead birds, including a pheasant. Left in the foreground a shotgun, left behind a meadow.

Elisabeth Iosetta Hoopstad (1787-1847) was a Dutch still life painter renowned for her detailed depictions of game and fruit. Her richly textured works evoke both bounty & mortality in the tradition of Dutch Golden Age painting, showcasing mastery of light and shadow.
