This elegant strolling dress impresses with the warm colours of its fine woollen cloth and the tone in tone appliqué of shimmering silk taffeta in an Art Nouveau-inspired pattern of winding acanthus. The waist-length jacket has a fashionable S curve with extended breast section, which simultaneously pushed the buttocks back and fastens with two velvet-covered buttons. It has a low neckline and wide, ascending lapels with a turndown collar. The lapel lining is entirely covered in silk satin and embroidered with lilac leaves in chenille thread. The edges of the collar and lapel are trimmed with drawn, blue silk velvet. The long, high set sleeves are also decorated with satin appliqués at the shoulder and hemline. The multi-panel skirt, which falls smoothly over the hips, terminates in a train. The hemline has a high decorative border made of satin appliqué.
