My work plays with certain ambiguity between figuration and geometry, volume and flatness, metaphysics and children’s illustrations. It is a search for the unclassifiable, of remains of what is admitted and subjectivity itself, which, at a certain point, has taken me to wonder if visual arts are the purpose of it. Perhaps not… Why shouldn’t we admit it? Shouldn’t we wonder at some point if everything is art and everything is philosophy? I think we should. For that question, Deleuze and Guattari’s work is fundamental: What is philosophy? brings light to the question and generates new hypotheses. Parapaisaje symbolizes the work watching the artist and the spectator: “the landscape sees”. Thus, watched by the surrounding, it builds a topography of the subject and aims to preserve a desirable level of subjectiveness. The work makes the artist and the spectator; it builds our identity and subjectiveness.
