A master goldsmith, Corvaja has been perfecting his craft since 1992. The attention to detail in his work is imbued into the outer edges as well asthe interior structure of each piece. He has been based in Todi, Perugia since 2001 and has accrued a wealth of prestigious awards.A stunning synthesis of scientific principles andthe exploration of light and symmetry, this fine-metal bowl is a pioneering work of art. To emulate the way metals bond in deep space, the artist made his own spherical vacuum chamber, transforming gold intoa hair-thin substance which could then be spun into this circular mandala structure. A marriage of science and craftsmanship, the light emanatingfrom within illuminates a swirling sense of mystery where an alchemy of ancient ideas coalesce withthe cutting-edge.
