This locomotive was built in 1905 by the German manufacturer Henschel & Sohn for the State Railways. It operated on all narrow-gauge railway lines in the north of the country, especially after their integration into the Companhia dos Caminhos de Ferro Portugueses in 1947. With the arrival of diesel locomotives, they were transferred to the Tua and Tâmega lines and gradually withdrawn. Until the mid-1980s, this locomotive remained active on the Tâmega line, providing seasonal trains for the festivities of S. Gonçalo in Amarante.
