Scale, orientation and arrangement play critical roles in defining the status of the participants, with the most important individual elevated on a platform and depicted on a much larger scale than the three rows of individuals lined up behind him. The platform-bearers and two individuals in the central row, a weapon-bearer and an individual in a long garment, both depicted with frontal chest and shoulders, appear to be marked out as high status. To whom, or to what, this ritual scene is addressed is unknown, but analogies with Kul-e Farah III suggest a procession involving animal sacrifice.
