João Maria Gusmão and Pedro Paiva are Portuguese artists who have been collaborating since 2001, forging a distinctive artistic practice rooted in research and driven by a profound fascination with the metaphysical realm. Their artistic journey began in Lisbon during the late nineties, where they pursued studies in Fine Art, establishing a shared passion for philosophy that would permeate their subsequent creative endeavors. The duo founded *Eflúvio Magnético*, a philosophical magazine in 2005, solidifying their commitment to critical inquiry and artistic experimentation. From their debut exhibition at Museo do Chiado in Lisbon (2005), Gusmão & Paiva have steadily cultivated an international presence, showcasing their work in prominent galleries and institutions across Europe and Asia.
