niko pirosmani, a georgian primitivist painter, was born in 1862 in the village of mirzaani, kakheti province. his parents, aslan pirosmanashvili and tekle toklikishvili, were farmers who owned a small vineyard. orphaned at a young age, pirosmani was left in the care of his two elder sisters.artistic style and themes
