The White Mountain I

The elements of the abstract composition by Paweł Lewandowski-Palle are made of two independent, though functioning in close relationships, layers. In the pictorial field of the blue, gradually lightening, colour there is a light-coloured, nearly isosceles triangle. Against this background, there are several rows of small, blue squares circumscribed with a distinctive contour. The principle ruling the system of geometric figures consists of a smooth transition from the darker tones to the brighter ones (upwards composition). This procedure generates specific dynamics, recalling a slow, but consequent relief from the law of gravity. The rows of squares, resembling a regular perforation, appear to float against the unshakable, permanently attached to the base, triangular form. [F. Pręgowski]
