DiaporamaBuildings Made of Sky I
A photographic suite of upside-down Manhattan streetscapes, Buildings Made of Sky presents the canyons between skyscrapers as buildings, each a different shade of blue. In this way, it draws our attention to the forgotten edge between things. In the 2008 SFMOMA exhibition Cut: Revealing the Section, Buildings Made of Sky was presented as a meditation on the idea of the section, a vertical cut through space. A primary means by which architects visualize spatial adjacencies and discontinuities, the section remains elusive to those not trained in the design disciplines. Initially Peter Wegner
