ChasingTomorrow
‘Chasing tomorrow’ is an interactive painting which unites Picaroon’s two artistic disciplines: technical, interactive elements and acrylic painting. The piece shows a life-size figure running out of the darkness towards the observer, trying to reach a physical light which is flickering outside the painting. As the viewer approaches, the light becomes even more restless and begins to flicker more intensely. This piece questions our life goals and the personal fulfillment that most of us strive for. Can we ever really achieve our goals? Is it worth compromising other areas of life for the sake of an individual goal? How close must and can we come to our goals in order to feel meaning? Can a goal ever be evaluated objectively? And – most importantly – what do we miss while we’re fixated on chasing our goals?
