Salma Arastu is a US based multidisciplinary artist who has been exhibiting for over three decades. She is celebrated for her lyrical, flowing lines and use of vibrant colour; telling the stories of humanity with creativity and compassion. Salma’s delicate sense of colour is a constant feature in her stylised figurative paintings and sculptures and is also prominent in her unique style of calligraphic art. Night Time Stories belongs to a series of paintings Salma produced to narrate her personal stories in an adapted form of the traditional miniature. She envisaged taking the tradition forward by using contemporary techniques while keeping with the soul of the form through composition, content, colour and detail.
