şeker ahmed paşa, also known as ahmed ali pasha, was a renowned ottoman painter, soldier, and government official. born in üsküdar, istanbul in 1841, he initially entered medical school in 1855 but later transferred to the military academy. this unique blend of medical and military experience sparked his interest in painting, particularly anatomy and perspective.artistic pursuits
under the patronage of sultan abdülaziz, şeker ahmed paşa was sent to paris in 1864 to study art under gustave boulanger and jean-léon gérôme. he exhibited his oil paintings at the paris salon in 1869, marking a significant milestone in his career.military promotions and artistic contributions
