Shawn Stewart aka “Stu” is a self-taught artist that hails from the city of Dayton, OH. Stu’s journey as an artist started in 2017 when he needed artwork for his bare walls in his new apartment. After hearing how pricey it could be to acquire art for his new home, he woke up the next morning and had an idea that would change his life forever. It was the idea to pick up a paint brush and paint! From that day forward he had the sensation to keep creating thus beginning his journey as the amazingly talented artist we see before us today. Prior to his 8th-grade sketches of Batman he never really thought of becoming an artist. Approximately 3 yrs later, he has holistically immersed himself into the world of art. “For me, art is considered a great escape. It gives me the opportunity to step out of my tough and rugged facade I’ve created as protection from the world. I can be and create what the farthest reaches of my imagination has to offer.” Since his move to Atlanta, the artist has displayed at countless art shows and pop-ups including award ceremonies, red carpet events, commissioned artworks for celebrities, a live painting for the mayor of Forest Park, and 5 pieces in Trap Music Museum. “I feel being a self-taught artist gives me the ability to see the art world through a unique lens. Not chained down by any ideas of technique or uniformityPlease contact art@trapmmusicmuseum.us for questions about this project.@the1theycallstu
